The Harmony Weaver's Cabin is part of the Harmony Museum in Historic Harmony, PA, now a national historic landmark district. In 1804, a group of German separatist Lutherans, under the leadership of Johann Georg Rapp, settled here in Western Pennsylvania as a communal society seeking to live a simpler form of Christianity. They brought their skills in a variety of crafts, including weaving and wine making, along with a strong work ethic. While they resided in "Harmonie" only 10 years, a multitude of their well-built structures remain, including the "Weaver's Cabin".
The "Weavers of Harmony" are a dedicated group of volunteers who work to promote Harmonist history and heritage by preserving artisanal and heritage crafts.
The Cabin offers lessons, demonstrations and produces textile goods for retail sale to support the program.
